No Power
You may have noticed there have been no blogs for a couple of days. A powerful snow storm moved through our area and knocked out power to thousands of people.
The power interruption came in the evening so we were plunged into immediate darkness. When all the power went out, I had to go find a flashlight and then with that I could find other battery-operated devices to light up the house so we would not trip and fall. Who knows where the cats left all their toys.
By morning it was starting to get colder in the house. No power, nor furnace means no heat. Our neighbor down the road was also without power so I checked on her and later in the day I picked her up and my wife made a delicious white chicken chili on our gas stove and all three of us enjoyed together.
Power came on later that evening for our road. Instantly darkness became light, and we could see things clearly once again. The furnace came on and gradually the house warmed back up.
What happened is a great illustration of what it means to be in spiritual darkness. A person in spiritual darkness is cut off from God, the source of power, light, and love which warms our soul. Jesus is the source of spiritual light for this world. Thank you, Jesus, that you never lose power.
“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 NKJV
Happy to have your blog back! I missed it!
