Every morning as I begin to write my daily blog, I look at and begin with a totally blank screen or page. There is nothing on it, only blankness. It is a bit frightening. What is God going to inspire me to write about today?
Then it dawned on me. That blank screen I begin each and every morning with, is a perfect image of how God wants us to see our new day. Our sins have been forgiven. Though they were red as crimson. They are now as white as snow. Our slate is empty because Jesus has wiped it clean by His death on the cross.
Yesterday’s dramas, concerns, and struggles are in the past and gone. We begin this day and every day with a clean slate. With God’s help we can make this day special. The blank slate is a gift from God we have been given to start writing our life over again, despite what happened yesterday or the day before that.
We have a new opportunity to experience God’s joy, blessing, peace, love, and faithfulness in our lives. It is a new day and God wants us to begin it by rejoicing in Him.
Thank you, Jesus, for that blank screen I began writing on today. Without it I never would have seen, like I do now, how you want me to see and begin each new day.
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; 23 they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV
