What happens when you have a small sore in your mouth? You cannot keep your tongue from going there incessantly.
I had a tooth extracted a few days ago and one of the complications of the extraction was a small sore developed on the inside of my lower lip. Nothing serious health wise but it was annoying to try and stop my tongue from checking it out constantly.
It is not the “big” things in life that always get our attention. Sometimes it is the smallest things that can demand we pay attention to them.
Small things do matter in our journey. There are kind words of encouragement that can be given to a friend who might be struggling. A simple thank you to a loved one may make them feel they are appreciated and not being taken for granted.
The other day I was in a parking lot, and I observed a husband open the car door for his wife. Ok. I do that sometimes too. But what he did next, I have never done. She sat down in the seat and then he lovingly took the seat belt and buckled her in. She could have opened her own door and buckled her own seatbelt, but he did it for her.
Small things matter. If we pay attention to them on our journey God has a way of turning a little into a lot!
