Living in the Shadows
When I think of shadows, I think of criminals who hide in the shadows ready to rob and steal. When I think of shadows, I think of the lions and cheetahs I watched in Kenya. They would use shadows to get close to the impala before they would make their move to take them down. Generally, shadows have a negative connotation. However, the Bible puts a different spin on shadows. Shadows are also a place of safety for those being pursued. When you play hide and seek, you hide in the shadows, so you will not be found.
The safest place to be when you feel the storms of life building around you. The safest place to seek shelter when life goes sideways for you, is in the shadow of God Almighty. Our God is greater than all our problems. Our God is greater than all the enemies we face. Our God is greater than all the obstacles we face. Our God is greater than all the powers of this world. When God is for us, who can stand against us. Stay close to Jesus! Place your trust in Him.
“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:1-2 NIV
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock that shadows a dry thirsty land.” I like that song. Our world today is a dry, thirsty land.
