What is Your Passion?
Passion is an emotion that we can barely control. It is an emotion then causes us to do something about what we care so strongly about.
Perhaps your passion revolves around a cause. You see a need in your community, and you want to make a difference, so you put your whole self into addressing that need. Perhaps your passion revolves around a sport. You love the outdoors so it could be fishing, hunting, snowmobiling. Often sports involve competition so it could be baseball, football, or basketball. Hobbies often turn into passions. Cooking, baking, sewing, reading, painting, woodworking, collecting things (beware of that one), gaming and the list goes on for hobbies.
When I was younger my passion was basketball all the way through high school. When I left high school my passion for the sport ended abruptly. I never watched another basketball game. Perhaps your passions have changed through the years as well.
When I believed In Jesus, while in Iran, God gave me a passion for missions. He showed me the lostness of the unsaved, how few were even aware of their spiritual state, and what He wanted me to do about it. That passion has not left. The Apostle Paul had passion that I pray mine would rise to the level of.
“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” Acts 20:24 NIV
