When I can find time, I enjoy working in my woodshop on creative projects. Creating something that I have never made before stretches my abilities to the limit. More than once I had to stop and figure out a different way of making something.
Sometimes when I am in the middle of trying to figure something out, I need to step aside and get a different perspective on how to solve the problem.
This week, to take my mind off everything else I came up with an idea for a project at church. I am making fish to go on a bare wall in our Fellowship Hall. What should they look like, how many will I need to make, what color to paint them, how to position them on the wall are but a few of the things I need to figure out. At times I need to step back and picture the project from a different perspective.
When we are facing hard times in our lives we need to also step back and see things from a different perspective, God’s perspective. How we see things matters. Like, understanding just how much Jesus loves us. That changes everything.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-38 NIV
