I often don’t appreciate something until it’s missing. The internet goes down for a day and I really miss it. Only then do I appreciate all the time it saves me in looking things up. Only then do I truly appreciate how it keeps me in touch with others.
My car broke down and it puts a crimp my mobility. Only then do I truly appreciate how much modern transportation allows me to get around. I can travel 20 miles in under one half hour. If I were to walk that distance that is all I would get done in one day.
My sister went home to be with the Lord this year. We had so many great times together. Now that I can no longer call her, I really appreciate all the great conversations we had. While she was alive, I just took those talks for granted. Not any longer. I love those memories.
Lord, help me to fully appreciate the people in my life and never take any relationship for granted. Lord, help me to fully appreciate all the things you have blessed me with. Lord, above all, help me to appreciate you and all you have done for me. I don’t know where I would be without you in my life. You are an Awesome God!
