Enough
When I finished eating dinner last evening, Monika asked me if I had enough to eat? We have all been asked that question. The answer we give is based on how satisfied we are. If Monika gave me one piece of bread and a glass of water, I would say no. If she gave me some rice, eggplant, and a piece of meat, I would say yes. I answered her yes. However, what satisfies me, may not satisfy you.
I know something that can satisfy everyone. It is given in portions that satisfy the hungriest person, God’s love. It is more than enough. When we go out to eat, sometimes the food does not taste right, and we are disappointed. God’s love, never disappoints. God loves us right where we are at. He doesn’t demand perfection before He gives us His love. God is love. He only does what is in our best interest, all the time. If He didn’t, He would cease to be God! It is never an issue of Him loving us. The issue is do we accept His love and pass it on to others.
Here are but two ways I know God loves us. One, when we pray to Him, He always answers our prayers in ways that are best for us. Granted, it may not be quick, exactly what we asked for, but it is always the best answer for us because our God is love. Two, He died for us and rose again. The greatest demonstration of love is giving of your life to save another’s. That’s what He did for us. Thank God today for loving you.
“We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19 NIV
