Don’t Quit
When I was getting close to the time of retiring from working at the insurance agency I managed, I would walk into the office and announce to my office manager, I quit. In fact, it became such a joke, that when I did retire, she bought me a mug for my retirement party that had those exact words printed on it, “I Quit.” You ask then, why would I write a blog about, “Not Quitting.”
In life, there are certain things we quit doing so we can do other things. We quit working at McDonalds so we can go to college and prepares ourselves for a different career. We quit working as a machine operator so we can supervise an entire floor of operators.
While we may quit doing certain jobs, there is something we must never quit doing, no matter how long we have been doing it, no matter the push back from forces visible and invisible. That is following Jesus, wherever He leads. From the first day we made the decision to place our faith in Jesus, until the day we die, we never are to quit the process of being transformed into His image and following Him, wherever He leads. Don’t quit trusting Him, every day of your life. Don’t quit doing what He asks you to do, today. He is our Leader, our Savior. We are His servants. Don’t quit when the going gets tough and you want to give up. Don’t quit when you are discouraged or depressed.
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 NIV
