Problems! – What Problem?
When my son and I were building a cedar strip canoe we encountered many problems. Why? We had never built a 17-foot canoe out of narrow strips of cedar. Every stage of the project was a “problem.” Do you build it from the top down or the bottom up? What kind of form do you build it on? How do you attach one strip to the next? How do you keep it from leaking? Those were the easy problems. Two years later and after many head scratching problems we took a beautiful hand made wooden canoe out on its maiden voyage, and it floated perfectly.
We face many problems in life that look and feel way too big, severe, or complicated to ever be able to rise above them. However, with God all things are possible. In the darkest moments God steps in. He offers us hope and a path to not only overcome the problem but to rise above it.
God steps in the moment we stop focusing on the “problem,” and start focusing on Him. God is greater than any problem we may have. In my 77 years of life, I have faced many problems that I felt, at the moment, would be my undoing. When I focus on Him, He always, and I mean always, offers me hope and a reason to trust Him! “God has got this.” Not only does the problem diminish in severity but things end up better than I could have ever dreamed of. God knows how!
“then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials” 2 Peter 2:9a
