Mundane or Miraculous
Where did all these dirty dishes come from, again? As I bent down to get the soap, my eyes see another area that needs attention. The sun shining just right showing crumbs scattered over the very recently swept floor. And is that a potato chip in the corner? And why is my shoe sticking to the floor?
Housework…well it’s just so daily. Get up, cleanup, cook, clean up. Repeat. Pretty mundane if you think about it. This can be all our lives, not only a housewife. Think of the man who faithfully rises early and punches a clock so he can take care of his family; for 40 plus years. Do you think it could get monotonous?
Oh, but let us shine the Light of Jesus into the daily tasks. I get to be the keeper of my home. I get to make my home a sanctuary for my family. The faithful man gets to use his skill and talent to care for the family God has entrusted him with.
Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 23,24 “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance, for you serve the Lord Christ.”
