Total Recall
While Jerry Falwell was still the President of Liberty University, I had the privilege of sharing the vision of Muslim and Hindu evangelism with students on that campus. On the opening day of the conference, all the guests formed a line and one by one we got to shake his hand and have a picture taken with him. When it was my turn I said, “Hello Mr. Falwell, my name is Paul Smith and I am here with International Missions to share the need to reach unreached Muslims and Hindus. Thank you for the opportunity to be on your campus.”
There were many other representatives who went before and after me. That brief greeting was sometime in the morning. Later that day, towards evening, we all gathered again in a large room and Jerry mingled among us. I will never forget what happened next. He came by me and said, “Paul, thank you for coming.” I was taken aback he could remember my name. We had never met before that brief encounter, hours previously. He shook the hands of many strangers, yet he recalled my name.
What he was able to do was amazing. However, just imagine, God knows everything about us. He has “Total Recall” of every aspect of every life that ever took the breath of life. He knows everything about you and me. When we meet Jesus, we will not need to tell Him our name. He already knew us when we were in our mother’s womb. Here is the truth that tops them all. While God has total recall, He chooses not to remember our sins. Thank you Jesus!
““I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.” Isaiah 43:25 NIV
