Broken
How many items have we broken throughout our life? I cannot count the number. Dishes have fallen out of my hand, figurines have fallen off a shelf, and recently my Bible fell and the binding broke. Through the years my friends have brought me items they broke to have fixed. One neighbor had a special wooden napkin holder that broke. He brought it over and asked if I could fix it. It was old and well used. Most of us would have thrown it away in the fire but it meant a lot to him. He wanted it fixed. It took many hours over several days to bring it back to life.
That reminded me that broken things can become beautiful things if God does the fixing. Broken families, broken hearts, broken relationships, even broken lives do not need to remain broken forever. They can be repaired. In fact, they can be made “new” if we let God do the fixing. Nothing is too broke, for God to fix.
If you are broken in any way, allow God to fix you. So often we try to fix things, our way. Allow God to fix things, His way. The glue that heals our brokenness is spiritual. Allow God to apply His healing power in your life.
If you need love, don’t look for love from others first. Look to God, for love. He is love! It is amazing the healing power that God’s love has. All the fixing of brokenness begins there. God loves you and He wants your pain healed.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3 NIV
