The Perfect Gift
When buying a gift for family, friends, or spouse I look for that perfect gift. The gift that will bless the person. The gift that will be memorable. To be honest, I start out with those intentions but seldom come back with that perfect gift. There are many reasons for that. They may already have what I was going to buy them, or I am not 100% sure what that perfect gift is. I end up giving it my best shot and hope they will like it.
This Christmas season God has given to the world, the perfect gift. Just ponder that thought for a moment. There was one gift that the entire world needed. There was one gift 100% of the people need. There was one gift that could bring peace to the soul of everyone. Oh, many people think they need some new clothes, new pieces of sporting gear, new shoes, a new car, etc. The point is everyone wants something different. None of those gifts are perfect for everyone. However, there is one gift that is the perfect gift for everyone, Jesus! He gives everlasting life to all who accept Him as God’s gift to them. Who does not want and need to spend eternity in heaven.
“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” 2 Corinthians 9:15 NIV
