Can I Trust God
When posed with that question, can I trust God, we all would answer yes. This year I have focused on trusting God more in my life. I have had daily opportunities to trust God more. I have quickly learned and am continuing to learn it is easy to say, I trust God. That is the easy part. The hard part is, doing it.
When everything is going smoothly, it is easy to trust in God. There is food in the pantry and the 401K is doing good. What about the times when things do not go according to plans. Some illness sets us, or those we love back. Unexpected expenses pop up. We desire to see some friends or family members walk with the Lord closer. Every Wednesday, a small group gathers at church to pray for the needs of the church family. All of us pray, but God does not always do what we ask Him to do. Can we still trust God?
One of the things that make it difficult to trust God always is we cannot see Him. It is so much easier to trust in someone who you can see. Secondly, it is difficult to trust God because He asks us to do things that on first inspection do not make sense. He told His disciples to let down their nets one more time, after they had let down their nets all night without catching anything. What was the point of doing it again? We know what happened.
Trusting in God is all about obedience to do what He asks us to do even when it does not make sense.
“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” Psalm 20:7 NIV
