Is God Lost
Growing up phones were either on the wall or the counter. They never got lost because they were attached by a cord. Now I “lose” my phone almost daily. I look here and there trying to remember where I last used it. Finally, out of desperation I call out to Monika. Honey, would you call my phone so I can “find” it.
That’s how I go about finding my phone. But how do I go about finding God? God is not lost but He may seem hard to find for various reasons. I may not have “looked for Him” recently. Life may be going along smoothly. No health issues and no drama may make me think I don’t need Him with me. I will be able to find Him when I need Him. However, because I have not kept Him close to me, as it were in my pocket or purse, when I need Him most, He may be hard to find. He may seem distant, lost, and far away.
That brings me to the point of this blog. Sometimes God may bring us to the edge of what we can handle so we can “find” Him. When we are aware of our weakness, we become aware of His strength and presence.
“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.’ 2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV
