His Timing
I struggle with being impatient. I tend to believe that now is better than later. Why wait for a package to come in the mail for four days when you can have a Prime Membership and get it the next day.
In life there is much beyond our ability to control. We may want winter to be over, but all the “wanting” we do, does not make the first day of spring come one day sooner. We may want Jesus to return soon, so we can be with Him, but that will not brink Him back one day sooner.
I learn daily that the journey Jesus has me on in this life is His story. He knew me in my mother’s womb. He formed me. He brought and brings, beautiful people into my life. Lessons in acceptance are learned as I understand my life is His story.
I may have chosen a different way to spend my retirement, but Jesus had different plans. His way is always the best way. Lessons in trust are learned following His way.
One of the things we are going to learn when we get heaven is, His Timing is perfect. Why was our flight delayed for two hours? Talk about testing may patience! Why did my medicine which was supposed to arrive the next day, arrive two weeks later? Did it really need to go to CA, IL, TX, and NY before making it to my mailbox. The more I learn to accept His timing as perfect, the less impatient I become.
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” Psalm 27:14 NIV
