Here Am I, Send Me
What will we see and what will we be doing when we get to heaven? The Apostle Paul was there in Spirit one time, and he related that what he saw was indescribable. Isaiah the prophet also got a glimpse of heaven, and he wrote about it in Isaiah 6.
It was an incredible scene that he describes. He witnessed angels singing, a temple, lots of smoke and so much more. In the middle of it all he became keenly aware of his own unworthiness to be in such a place. The Lord then spoke to him and basically asked him this one question, “Will you go where I ask you to go, and do what I ask you to do?”
Then the Lord informs him that the assignment will be anything but easy. Isaiah was willing to go, but he knew the task would be difficult.
He asked the Lord, “how long will I be asked to follow You?” The Lord said, “until you have finished all I want you to do.” Each of us has a divine purpose to complete for the Lord on this earth. None will be easy. Each will take His divine help to complete.
God has a plan for my life; He has gifted me to live out my unique calling. I want to fit into His plan, and not try to make God fit into mine.
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,
“Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8
