Always Guided
Some people have a very good sense of direction, and others do not. How is your sense of direction?
Mine is very good. However, there are times when no matter how good a person’s sense of direction is, they cannot find their way home.
It was a nice warm sunny evening on Lake Michigan. The fish were biting, many boats were on the lake and suddenly a dense fog bank moved in. We had good electronics on our boat and were able to get back to port without any problems. That night we slept on our boat in the harbor.
About 3 am we heard a boat come by us in the harbor. I got up to check out what happened. I dad took his three young boys out fishing that afternoon. He had just purchased a new electronics package for his boat and had not learnt how to properly use it.
When the fog moved in, he had no idea where he was. He wandered around on the lake aimlessly for hours until the fog finally cleared. They were all scared by the experience but made it back safe.
God promises to never leave us in a fog. He gives us clear directions in His Word where He wants us to go and how to get there. He doesn’t take the wheel and force us to go in a certain direction. He lovingly guides us.
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” Psalm 32:8
