Who Wants to Wait
Being impulsive, as I am, it is hard to wait for anything. It was so hard to wait for Christmas to come around. Then on Christmas Eve it was so hard to wait until evening when we would gather around the Christmas Tree and open presents.
I don’t like waiting in checkout lines at the grocery store. I am always looking for the shortest line. I really don’t like waiting for the plane to arrive that I am scheduled to fly out on. Not that long ago I was scheduled to leave Appleton airport at 7pm and the plane did not arrive until close to midnight. Not fun.
God is working on that part of my life. My wife tells me I need more patience, but patience is a negative word in my vocabulary. The Bible tells me tribulation builds patience and I do not need more tribulation in my life. If you ever wonder if God answers prayer, pray for patience, and get ready for a long day. My daughter called the other day and said she prayed for patience before they were leaving on a trip. They didn’t get to leave until the next day because of mechanical problems.
There is one time I need to learn to wait without exception. I need to wait on God for help and not do things in my own strength.
“But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 NKJV
