Remember all we went through with Covid-19 not all that long ago. Monika and I both came down with it and spent the mandatory five days in confinement. It was a mild case towards the end of it all but at least we had each other. However, my taste is not anywhere close to what it used to be. My sister died from Covid-19. It too was way at the end of the outbreak. I was allowed to visit her if I was fully gowned. I spent hours with her. She was confined in a special wing of the hospital, in a special room, and isolated from all but just a few. Remember all the elderly that were confined for months on end, in one room inside their care center. If a family member could go visit them, they might be able to wave at their loved one through an outside window.
I remember how excited I was when I got cleared to leave my house, end the confinement, and get on with my life. Can you recall those days and how you dealt with your confinement and the relief you felt when the whole thing was over?
For those who do not know Jesus as their Savior there is a confinement coming far worse than anything we could ever imagine. The only escape from that prison is faith in Jesus. He sets us free by faith.
“because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:2 NIV
