Invisible Yet Recognizable
Gravity is the one thing that comes to my mind immediately when I think of something that is invisible yet is very recognizable. The proverbial apple falls from the tree and hits the ground. The effects of gravity are clearly seen yet gravity is invisible.
There are a lot of unseen forces, both good and bad, that are at work in our world. They are there, produce effects, yet we cannot see them.
I know scientists attempt to explain how the universe came into being and how it all just stays together. We all agree there is a lot of unseen force and power behind it all. I don’t claim to be a scientist, but I can see the power unleashed in a nuclear blast.
I cannot see God. He is Spirit. Yet I know He is there. When I look up at the night sky, I know there is a power greater than anything I could ever imagine that brought the night sky into existence and keeps it from just falling apart.
Though we cannot see God we can count on Him being there in our lives when we go through those difficult times on our journey. Without His help we would never have the necessary power to make it through. We cannot see You but we know You are always there by our side.
“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV
