Not Happened Yet
Our minds are trained to think that just because something has not yet happened, it will “never” happen. When I was young, I thought I could do anything I wanted, and it would not ever affect me.
I enjoyed fishing, which meant I was out in the sun a lot. Only sissies put on sunscreen. I never put it on once until I was diagnosed with melanoma. Now I put it on whenever I am outside. I hated wearing sunglasses. They were always falling off, getting lost, or dirty. I was diagnosed with age related macular degeneration. My eyesight is awful now. I am doing everything I can to keep it from advancing to the wet form. I know many people who must get shots in their eyes because of it. Very scary!
Obviously, just because something has not yet happened is no guarantee it will not happen in the future. While Noah was building the Ark, everyone but eight believed it would never rain, much less rain so hard they would need an ark. Only eight people survived the flood. Good lesson there.
Jesus said I am coming back to take you to be with Me. Hasn’t happened yet, but if I were you, I would be getting ready! Because something has not yet happened does not mean it will never happen.
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:3 NIV
