Time Moves On
I begin most days with that deep feeling inside me that I don’t have enough time to get everything done I want to get done. There are those chores that must get done. I will make time for doing those things. There are certain responsibilities that cannot be pushed off to another day, like paying the electricity bill. There are people who I want to visit, the person in the hospital, someone who is widowed and lonely, my brother whom I haven’t seen for some time, or the person who is going through hard times and needs someone to talk to. I need to find extra hours in the day to meditate, study, and prepare for my 38-minute message on Sunday. There is no way to tell people I will be showing up to church 2 hours late because I ran out of time doing other stuff. Every hour of every day is valuable to me. Time does not stand still.
That brings me to the point of this devotional. Our time on earth matters to God. Only He knows exactly how much time we get to spend here. He wants us to make wise use of it. There are ways I want to use my time and ways He wants me to use my time. Just as I am a steward of money, I am a steward of time. God help me to be a wise steward of time. I want to use it wisely for your glory.
“Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.” Colossians 4:5 NIV
