There are over 7,000 official languages in the world. That phenomenon is thanks to God judging man at the tower of Babel. More on that later.
What people consider good to eat in one corner of the globe would repulse others. I would find it hard to dine on a guinea pig for dinner. I prefer eating potato chips for a snack while others prefer munching on a crispy tarantula.
Depending on where you live it may not even be the year 2023. According to the Hebrew Calendar it is 5784. Year one in their calendar is the day God created the world.
Back to the Tower of Babel. People are so very different around this globe. Yet, people are so much the same. The Bible refers to it as our fallen nature. Pride drove mankind to build a tower that reached into the heavens. Pride can be found in the heart of every human being on this planet. We may not share a lot in common with people who live in a mud hut without electricity, but we do share a common nature.
Only Jesus can transform man’s fallen nature. He can do that for anyone, no matter what year it is on their calendar or what is being served at the dinner table. The message of salvation crosses all cultural, social, and economic barriers. The reason being it speaks to man’s nature which is the same everywhere.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV
