Forgetfulness is quite a phenomenon. There are things in life that I never want to forget and other things I cannot forget soon enough. As I get older, I become concerned if I am forgetting too much, like what did I all do yesterday or what did I eat for breakfast. You know what I am talking about.
My life has been full and blessed by God. One of the things I enjoy about writing these blogs is it stretches my memory to remember events from my past. It is interesting that God’s Word helps to jog my memory and bring to the forefront life events that illustrate certain passages.
The Bible tells us it is important for our spiritual health and growth to forget certain things from our past, like sin that has been confessed and forgiven. Isn’t it amazing how Satan wants us to never forget that part of life.
The Bible tells us it is important for our spiritual health and growth to Never Forget other things. I find this next point amazing. God tells us to never forget that He never remembers our former sins. We are to never forget His promises to us, like He will never leave us or forsake us. We need to remember that truth. Isn’t it amazing how fast Satan wants to wipe away the promises of God from our memories.
This Christmas season was memorable for me and if I don’t forget, I will share a great memory in tomorrow’s blog.
