Baby animals are so cute. Some may not “look cute” like baby wart hogs, but the way they interact with their siblings is cute and very entertaining to watch.
Who does not love watching baby raccoons tumble and roll around with each other. Every spring we get to watch a new group of baby raccoons on our deck. My wife puts food out for stray cats and anything else that comes by. Over the years the racoons know where their next dinner is. If my wife does not get the food out soon enough the raccoons will put their paws up on our patio door window, look in, and say where is my food.
When their babies are old enough to venture out of their tree den the mothers bring them to our deck. The babies aren’t interested in food. They just want to climb over everything. Our patio chairs, table, and railing become their playground.
As late summer appears they go back to behaving as raccoons. One day they stop showing up. The farmer’s corn is maturing, and they prefer soft corn on the cob over anything we can give them.
God asks us to not behave in just human ways. It is so natural to act that way. It is in our very nature. Jealousy, selfishness, and pride come naturally.
Praise God, He has sent His Spirit to give us power to no longer live in merely human ways. We are overcomers in Christ! “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Romans 8:37 NIV
