As a follower of Jesus our goal is to glorify God and live a godly life that would be pleasing to Him. We all know that is easily said but no one can reach that goal without a lot of struggling.
Last year the key word that I thought about every morning was fear, fear not. This year the key word that I think about, before I do anything else in the morning, is trust, trust in the Lord. Your struggles may lie in another area, but we all struggle to live a life that is pleasing to our Savior. I wish I had begun that discipline earlier on in my life.
However, I have discovered that it is never too late to start something new to bring positive change. I am never too old to change. That was just an excuse I used to use, to excuse behaviors that were keeping me from bringing my mind and my life under control. Control my mind. Control my life. Talk about struggles.
God gives me grace daily as I confront my struggles. That truth reminds me I need to extend grace to others as they are at various stages along their journey.
“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
