I have taken an interest in metal detecting. There is so much history buried just beneath the surface of the ground in Wisconsin that needs uncovering. While we may not find coins dating back hundreds of years, we could find ancient copper spears used by Native Americans that are thousands of years old. It just needs to be discovered.
Probably most of the items I will uncover will be nothing more than junk, old nails, old cans, etc. Some items will be so old and rusted I will have no idea what they were. However, I am confident that with patience I will uncover items that will tell the history of where I metal detect. I might even find hidden treasure. Who Knows! However, I will never find anything unless I first look.
In the Word of God there is a parable about a treasure hidden in a field that went undetected. Finally, a man discovered the treasure, bought the field, and took possession of its wealth. The point of the parable is that God is that priceless treasure, waiting to be found and worth every effort to possess it.
Seek God! If we do not seek Him, we will never find Him. Once we find Him, we need to seek to know Him, even more. God is a treasure that will never be fully uncovered, no matter how deep we dig.
“For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:8 NIV
