Memories are precious. When we get together with old friends whom we have not seen in a while it is so enjoyable to share memories of things we did together. I will never forget a trip we took with our friends to Krueger National Park in South Africa. There was the 24-hour flight there and back in cramped seats. That is unforgettable. We saw lions, cape buffalo, hippos, cheetah, giraffe, elephants, and a leopard resting in a tree. Seeing that leopard was the highlight for me. We spent hours just visiting with our friends with no interruptions. It is as if it happened yesterday, yet it was several years ago.
God wants us to spend time meditating on His Word and remembering everything He has done in this world up to the present. We remember how God delivered the Israelites from the hand of Pharaoh. We are to remind ourselves that He can deliver us from challenges in life just like He did for the nation of Israel.
We remember how God faithfully provided for all the needs of the Israelites as they wondered in the wilderness. He is a faithful God whom we can depend upon to meet our every need. There is none like Him. Remember and be encouraged to live with confidence.
“I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. 12 I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.” Psalm 77:11-12
