Something to Think About
You may have heard the expression; an idle mind is the devil’s workshop. My parents told me that many times. Maybe they noticed me daydreaming, staring off into space. Perhaps they thought I should be doing something more productive than just laying around.
The Bible gives us great ideas to think about when we have some quiet time. In fact, the Bible says, it is a super idea to carve out some quiet time so we can ponder who God is. God is the Sustainer of all we see and don’t see. He is kind. He is merciful. He is, I am that I am. He is near. He is understanding. When no one else knows how we feel, He does. He is Holy. He is Love. He is Just. He is Complete. He knows everything about everything, from the smallest atomic particles to the universe. Nothing escapes His sight. He is wonderful. He is compassionate. He is forgiving. He is faithful. He is God.
“I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, And on Your wondrous works. 6 Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, And I will declare Your greatness. 7 They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, And shall sing of Your righteousness. 8 The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy. 9 The Lord is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works.” Psalm 145:5-9 NKJV
