The Morning News
Every morning after devotions and writing my blog I check out the weather and daily news on the internet. Most of the news is negative. It’s the usual, politics, war, drugs, immigration, shootings, rioting, or some innocent family gets killed by a drunk driver. After a person catches up on the morning news a good start to the day can become rather depressing were it not for devotions. The news can either make one angry at all the injustice or it can make one fearful. Are we nearing the end? When will war overtake this country? How can I be prepared? How will I avoid taking the mark of the antichrist?
Basically, we do not trust those in power. Who is really pulling the strings behind those in power? What is their ultimate purpose? One world government, maintain power through any means possible, or take away our freedoms.
One result of thinking this way is we stop trusting in Jesus and start trusting in self. Another is living in dread of forces we have no control over. That fear is not from the Lord. My God is in total control. He allows things to happen for His purposes, which are perfect and often beyond my understanding. My responsibility is to fear God alone and trust Him with all my mind.
“Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it.” Isaiah 8:12 NIV
