THE MAGIC PILL
Who would not like to take a pill and have all our money problems disappear. We wish it would be so easy.
Who would not like to take a pill and have all our aches and pains, or our serious illness go away forever. We wish it were so easy. That is why all we see on TV are ads for wonder drugs or vitamins.
Who would not like to take a pill and instantly all our anxieties, fears, depression, addictions, or struggling relationships would be cured. We wish it were so easy.
Here is a pill I would like to discover. The pill that would take all my temptations away, forever.
Friends, we are on a journey. There are no quick or easy fixes that will cure all that is wrong with us or solve all our problems. Those are the cold hard facts. But there is good news, and it comes from above.
God loves us. I remember lying on a hospital bed as a teenager, in pain, anxious about my condition and lonely. Then my mother walked through the door, sat next to the bed, reached out, and touched me. Her loving touch made everything go away. I don’t remember the pain, I still had to heal, but I will never forget that touch.
Today, allow yourself to be touched by God’s love. It’s not the magic pill, but there is nothing like knowing God loves us on our journey.
“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.” 1 John 4:16 NIV
