Wash Me
I grew up in a home that did not have a bathtub, only a shower in our basement. When I was small, I still can remember my mother giving me my daily bath in the kitchen sink. She would fill the sink up, test it so it would not be too hot, and in I would go. She would suds me up, wash my hair, and then squirt me off with the sprayer. She would get me squeaky clean.
Jesus was going to wash Peter’s feet before they had their last meal together. Peter would have no part of it until Jesus told him that he would have “no part with me.” That changed Peter’s mind in a hurry. Not only was he ok with having his feet washed, but he was willing to let Jesus wash him head to toe.
When we get dirty, we want to be clean. Nothing feels better than a nice hot shower. When we sin, we need to have our souls washed clean. Only Jesus can make our souls as white as the snow. That is clean.
Search my heart God and see if there is any sin in it, I am unaware of. King David sinned, and these were his prayers. Jesus Forgives!
