We all face those days and nights when matters weigh heavily on our souls. Hardship comes with being human and living in a world with other humans. Each of us have sin natures and that sin nature produces behaviors that hurt us and others.
As parents we toss and turn through some nights when our children or grandchildren are going through tough times. They may be making some bad choices, and we feel powerless to do anything about it. We lay awake and pray, asking for God’s intervention in the matter.
Instead of being fearful and overwhelmed with anxiety, we can have faith that God knows everything that is going on. God cares for the situation even more than we do. That seems impossible, but it is true.
Not only does the Lord care about the ones we are praying for, but did you know, He cares for us in our tossing and turning. God sees our pain too. In fact, in Psalms 56 it says He catches our every tear in a bottle. The point is, before God no pain or sorrow we feel is wasted or goes unnoticed. God “feels” our struggles. One day all those tears captured by God will be made right when we get to heaven, and He finally wipes aware the last tears we will ever shed. WOW! What a day that will be.
“You have seen me tossing and turning through the night. You have collected all my tears and preserved them in your bottle! You have recorded every one in your book.” Psalm 56:8 TLB
