As I reflect on my journey as a follower of Jesus, there have been and continue to be ups and downs. My prayer life is consistent, sometimes for months at a time, but then something happens and the devotion to prayer is lost. God reminded me of the problem through His Word and I got back on track. He picked me up when I was down.
There was even a period in my life when I only read God’s Word on occasion. Those were dark days and are behind me. But I can remember how empty and out of sorts my life felt during that time. Once again, He picked me up when I was down.
On our journey through life, God allows us to go through hard times, very hard times. There are times when we may feel that the doors to heaven have been closed and He cannot hear our pleas. We keep reading His Word, trusting, and praying and He picks us up and gets us back on track. It’s awesome how faithful God is to us.
Thank you, Father, for picking us up every time we fall and pointing us in the right direction. Without your help we would all lose our way on this journey.
