Silence
I look forward to the morning when things are silent inside and outside the house. I never had that living in the city. There were cars driving by all hours of the day and night. The sirens from police cars, ambulances, or fire trucks could be heard in the distance. Our days are hectic and filled with the noises of life.
Some people have asked me, why do you get up so early and write your blog. Write it during the day and just publish it in the morning. The answer is always the same. The mornings are quiet inside and outside the house. Above all, my mind is also quiet. Nothing is occupying my thoughts outside of what God would have me write about. The noise of everyday life is absent.
After writing the blog I do my devotions in silence, so God can talk to me from His word. Silence is precious. Enjoy moments of silence today. Take a walk in the park or woods and block out the noise of the world. It is during those moments we can listen to God. During those moments of silence, enjoy the presence of God.
“Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation.” Psalm 62:1 NKJV
