Waterfalls
We got to see many glaciers in Alaska. There are two basic types, tidewater and alpine, that we saw. Tidewater glaciers terminate in a body of water. As we got near to the Hubbard Glacier you could hear the sound of it gradually moving ever so slowly. We were told it is six miles wide and six hundred feet thick where it meets the water. It is massive and very noisy.
We also got to see many alpine glaciers or hanging glaciers. Beautiful waterfalls cascaded down the mountain slopes from most of them. The water coming from them was crystal clear and very cold. Our bus driver made it a point to fill his water bottle from one that was near a turn off on the highway.
God’s grace is much like those waterfalls. It keeps flowing and meets our various needs. Picture a waterfall in your mind and think of God’s grace. If you are facing illness, His grace is sufficient. If you are facing a financial need, His grace is sufficient. If you need wisdom to make an important decision, His grace is sufficient. If your children are testing your limits, His grace is sufficient.
Grace! God’s Grace! It is beautiful. It flows into our lives from a source ever so pure. It never runs out. It is powerful. God’s grace is much like a waterfall.
“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9a NIV
