Day 36
Read: Exodus 13:1 – 15:27
Today’s reading highlights God’s power in delivering Israel from Egypt, turning fear into faith through the Red Sea miracle and the pillar of cloud/fire. Calling for consecrated, grateful living and remembering God’s saving acts.
What “Egypt” is God calling you out of? Is there a bondage or old way of life you need to leave behind to embrace the freedom God offers?
God claims the firstborn, setting them apart as a reminder of His redemption. This teaches that our lives and resources belong to Him, not just our leftovers, as we are purchased by the “Lamb of God.”
God leads the Israelites the “long way” to avoid war, demonstrating He knows our limitations. Even when the path seems confusing, God is guiding us away from dangers we cannot see.
Trapped between the Red Sea and Pharaoh’s army, God commands the people to “stand firm” and watch Him fight for them. God is our defender, turning our dead-end situations into miraculous breakthroughs!
Are you trusting God in a “dead end”? When you face insurmountable challenges (like the Red Sea), do you panic or trust that God has a plan to bring you through?
After salvation, the people sing a song of praise. This emphasizes the importance of acknowledging God’s deliverance and praising Him for who He is, not just what He does.
How are you remembering God’s work? What practical habits can you create to remember how God has saved and sustained you?
Prayer
Lord, thank you for rescuing me from my own bondage. Help me to live a life consecrated to You, recognizing that I am redeemed. When I am afraid or feel trapped, remind me to stand firm and trust in Your salvation. Teach me to sing praises to You for Your mercy and power. Amen.
