Today marks 2 weeks of reading the Bible in chronological order! Woohoo! Congratulations on making it this far and if you’re like me a review might be helpful as we continue diving into the scriptures so today’s layout is going to look a little different.
Read: Genesis 37:1 – 38:30 ; 1 Chronicles 2:3-6, 8 ; Genesis 39:1-23
Remember:
- Jacob=Israel
- Joseph is the son of Jacob & Rachel.
- Rachel’s father is Laban and Jacob’s preferred wife
- Laban deceived Jacob (remember the 7 years of work, giving Jacob Leah instead of Rachel, etc…)
- Judah is Josephs half brother (Judah’s mother is Leah)
(It’s important to know how all of the people we are continuing to read about are connected. If you have any questions, please share them in the comments. This is how we can better see how God has been SO GOOD from the very beginning)
Reflect:
How does Joseph’s unwavering integrity and trust in God amidst betrayal, false accusations, and imprisonment challenge your own perspective on faithfulness when facing seemingly hopeless or unfair situations, especially when God’s greater purpose is not immediately. clear?
