Happy Thanksgiving
We all know about the pilgrims and the origins of Thanksgiving. Here is an additional interesting fact. Abraham Lincoln declared Thanksgiving to be a National Holiday in 1863. He wanted the country to heal coming out of a war that deeply divided our country, the Civil War. He understood a thankful heart can heal a hurting heart.
We have just come out of a very divisive presidential election where many chose sides. With that behind us let us focus on what there is to be thankful for. A thankful heart will go a long way toward healing a hurting heart.
“give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 NIV
“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” 2 Corinthians 9:15 NIV
“I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers,” Philemon 1:4 NIV
Take a moment and thank God for your family and friends. Thank God for His gift to us. Thank God for His kindness, mercy and love. God is infinite, so his kindness, mercy, and love knows no limits. There is so much to be thankful for this day and every day. I want to wish everyone who reads these blogs a very Happy Thanksgiving. God Bless!
