Day 46
Read: Numbers 7:1-89
Today’s reading chronicles the twelve-day dedication of the Tabernacle altar, where the leaders of each tribe brought generous, identical offerings. This highlights that God values organized, sacrificial giving from all. This chapter teaches us that true worship requires consecration and lead to the blessing of hearing God’s voice.
The leaders brought significant gifts – gold, silver, and livestock – to dedicate the altar. This is an example of offering our best resources to the Lord as a form of gratitude, not just obligation.
Am I offering my “best” to God – my best time, talents, and resources, or am I just offering what is comfortable?
Although there were 12 separate days and 12 separate leaders, they were equal sacrificial offerings. This teaches us that every member of God’s community has a part in supporting His work, regardless of their role.
The chapter concludes with Moses entering the Tabernacle to hear God’s voice from the mercy seat. The true reward of a consecrated life is intimate fellowship with God. Thanks to Jesus, we don’t need a physical tent to hear Him. We can commune with Him daily.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for providing everything I need. I dedicate my life to You as a living sacrifice. Help me to be a cheerful giver and to cultivate a heart that listens for Your voice in Your Word. Amen.
